:TESTO:Going camping today with 12 of my housemate's friends. I look forward to the adventure.
The mead continues to bubble along nicely. It smells very citrus-y, and I think I will stick with my initial naming plan:
Which will probably be printed in grayscale, which is a slight shame. I might look into stealing a housemate's printer for that purpose, or gently daub the labels with tea.
This was a quick Google Images put-together, reminiscent of the
Babbage Gears OCCS shirt of a few years back. My google-foo is strong with line art, and I am content. This label maintains continuity in brand with
Mad Doctor Hrothgar's Midnight Mead by way of font (Wanted LET, for those who may care - similar to Playbill, with wear and tear), but offers a wholly new look (square and complex and aged, versus round and playful and plain) for the fall and winter seasons.
I'm off to camp, now. You should go outside and play.

:TESTO:I love designing brands.
Two parts high school mascot, one part each of Nike swoosh and cool spikey electro-thing, and a liberal dash of clever acronym gives us the logo for Digital Harbor High School's new student tech support team:
I may re-use the design (with different text) for my next batch of mead, which is happily bubbling along. For those keeping score, this mead is one part wildflower honey, four parts water, two lobes of ginger, one ounce rosemary, one orange (plus zest), a strong cup of black tea, and a hefty dose of champagne yeast.
The name for this batch is still in development. Prior to the logo's genesis, I was leaning toward (Mad Doctor Hrothgar's)
Patent No. 990: Method for Enduring a Siege. I was also playing with such names as
Thunder in a Bottle, Stormbrew, and the straightforward
Ginger Mead. I feel that Patent 990 will win, forcing me to make yet another logo (woe!), and I can save this e-sheep for some future zesty brew.
Today was an especially good day, too. Students listened and learned, I was treated with respect, and I even ran the two miles home.

Seagulls:ENDPOSTTITLE:
:TESTO:At the edge of the water in the rain sits the seagull-watcher. He sees the rain upon the water, tiny splashes shortening waves, quickening their pace. Sea birds wheel not in flocks but lonely - tiny gray quick terns and great brown gull-kings, lofty exiles. They flirt with the water, trace edges in the air of land and sea and bricksome heights. Wings curve to subtle winds, knowing and touching the shape of the world.
One king meets another. Rebounds, follows, turns and chases, the two now move as one, wingtips read the same lines in the sky. The brief flock peels, two new edges in the mist, silent rails to find and feel.
The watcher stands, and walks his path alone.
